PROJECT DETAILS
The vision of the pavilion was to generate an attractive and inviting sporting precinct that included upgrades to the surrounding landscape and planting on new lawns and trees. Various sporting clubs would use the facility with their own team requirements and the pavilion also needed to provide a place for community non-sporting events so the design incorporated a fully equipped bar, kitchen and kiosk.
Faceted roof plains and peaks were developed and became the focal point of the design. Tied in with colour and concrete panel variations to the facade, the overall appearance contrasted immensely against the dry red environment. The ground floor club rooms, the first floor function room with bar, along with the open tiered pavilion seating offers the users the new vantage point to enjoy the sporting activities and community facility they were lacking. With the nature of the Tom Price Sports Pavilion Project being a Design and Construct delivery model Jonathan was involved in the project from tender stage through to project completion. During the tender stage Jonathan was responsible for the selection of the proposed design team, preparation of the cost plan and overall tender submission. Upon award of the contract Jonathan’s responsibilities then involved procurement of the works, management of the cost plan, administration of the subcontracts and the head contract together with liaising with the client and other stakeholders in order to ensure all project requirements were met. |
